Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation
Sounds of Hope Benefit, Potter's House, Washington, DC

by Eric Steiner

I try to make the blues my business whenever I am on the road for my day job--my latest visit to Washington, D.C. was no different. My research begins with a click to the local blues society's web site that I find through The Blues Foundation. On the D.C. Blues Society website, I found an all-ages benefit show on October 7th at Potter's House, DC's oldest coffee house that's celebrating its 45th anniversary with a series of live music and spoken word events called Sounds of Hope on Friday nights in the Adams-Morgan neighborhood.

The 13th Annual Blue Bird Blues Festival
by Eric Steiner

I travel a lot for my day job. Before I pack my carry-on, I check www.pollstar.com to see who's on the road when I'm on the road. Pollstar features links to artists, cities, and venues, and it is a reliable source for information on touring artists. Fortunately for me, a recent business trip to Washington, D.C. coincided with the 13th Annual Blue Bird Blues Festival at Prince George's Community College in Largo, Maryland.
